Base map haltec E8

Postby irwin83r » Sun Jun 14, 2009 9:11 pm

hey all

will soon be installing a haltec e8 on the car and am wondering if anyone can run me through how it all works..

i have a plug in harness so just have to unplug standard ecu plug in the haltec and hook up a map sensor is that all?? do i need a wideband o2?

i will be running non standard cams higher comp and quads so cant get away with standard ecu even to get to tuner, so what im wondering is if anyone
knows where i can get a decent base map that will work with above setup on 98ron.

Talk to CT, he uses a tuner down your way.

You are better off getting the map from him I reckon (whoever you use).

Best bet, get a car trailer ...

Quads!? - where does that put you, class-wise?

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

Andrew, my tuner is in Peakhurst (Ricol Automotive) and he will have a base map for an NA car. Some of the settings will be similar to mine so I could talk you through them but fuel/ign will be nothing like it. My suggestion is to have Ricol get it running once you've installed it. Perhaps Cal or Neil from QLD will have a map they could send you for starters......??
