NA stall first stop after cold start

Hi Everyone,
I have a rather odd problem with my 90 NA. When it is realy cold out(like it has been recently) the car stalls the first time I stop after a cold start. It is a pain to restart at this point but once it is restarted it runs fine.

I have found two posts in other forums describing exactly this issue but no solution is ever given. I was hoping someone may have come across this before, as the other option is play the fun game of swap the component out till it is fixed

Given it's an na6, i'd suggest one of the two coolant sensors at the rear of the head, but it could also be an air leak that's intermittently presents when cold. Last one of these, which happened to be an na6, it turned out to be an air leak in the breather pipe from the cam cover - see 2nd last post of p3 of following or p1 ref coolant sensor:

Just a bit of an update. Mechanic gave it a bit of a going over. New airfilter, spark plugs, leads. Reset base idle, reset ignition timing and gave the air cleaning a good clean. The idle in general seems much improved. Will have to wait to winter to see if it still does its stall at the first corner thing.

good to hear it's ok so far - keep the temp sensor in mind if stalling reoccurs come winter. resetting ecu, which clears engine fault codes, can also assist - disconnect battery & depress brake pedal a few times for a few seconds each time.
