Hello Fatty,
This "imported 5 speed," is it for the NC ? Is the new NC going to be offered as a 5 Spd. as in other countries ? Cheers from slowpoke

Chris (MX5Racing on these forums) may be able to help you. He has/is importing a 5 speed NC for road use (and already has a few 6 speed NCs).

@slowpoke: The NC comes in 1.8 or 2L guise with 5 or 6 speed gearbox in Japan, UK, Europe. Australia only gets the 2 Litre 6 speed.

Pics of 5 speed NC next to 6 speed NC

Sizeable difference in the bell-housing width and weight is a little more with the 6.

Ive dríven with both and as with most MX5 gearboxes they feel very good. Nice, accurate selectors and good throw. Not sure if there are any issues with the 5 speeds when used hard. 6 speeds have a couple of minor issues which we have fixed with minor mods.
