hey all,
Has anyone got a wiring diagram for a jap spec car? I am swapping my aus spec computer to a jap spec one (higher rev limiter, different timing and slightly more power) but my issue is that the wire for the fuel pump if in a different position to the aus computer.
Has anyone else done this that could help?
Thank u

NB8A in Aust was still using OBDI, while in Japan & US they'd gone to OBDII in 1995 & MY1996. Aust got OBDII in 2002 So, while the US ECU was I believe spec'd differently to the Japanese ECU they are both OBDII in the NA8A, in which case a US wiring diagram might help:
'99-'04 US OBDII ECU (see page 11)

If the above doesn't have sufficient info then the following might help depending on how different the plug/ wiring was:
'96-'97 US OBDII ECU

Meant to add that the Japanese OBDII ECU might what to find OBDII sensors on your OBDI vehicle - I'm not sure if this can be easily deconflicted.

I have heard that the computer wants to recognise your ignition key and that if you change the computer the new one will not recognise your keys. Not experienced this personally, so can't vouch for it myself; has anyone else has heard of this, or experienced it (or contrarily, made the swap and had no problems)?

I've always wondered what would be required to add ODBII to an NB8A, and ECU and ODBII harness might be the solution.

Sounds like a nightmare. Drop that jap spec ECU and runaway!
