2007 NC: What's wrong with my clutch!

So, it's a great 30 degrees today. Decided to take the car out for a spin.
All good until taking off from a set of lights. Clutch engagement point dropped to the bottom qtr of its travel length requiring me to push the clutch to the carpet for each gear change.
Managed to get the car home. Clutch/Brake reservoir is on full. Took the cap off - nothing exciting in there. No leaks to see anywhere.
Called Mazda Roadside Service - useless. No interest in sending out their Mazda Roadside van (supposedly they do tyres and batteries only
) , and after 15 minutes of complaining, the best they could offer was a tow truck to a dealership tomorrow morning.
Have since let the car cool down, went back to it not long ago and everything seems close to normal again?!
Slightly concerned as the car is going to do an interstate run on Tuesday!
Will take the option of driving it in tomorrow morning... however seems strange that switching the car off and letting it cool down has semi fixed the issue
