Rubbing sound when disengaging throttle

Sorry to be flooding this place with all my mechanical uh ohs, hopefully somebody can help me on this too. Ok, well I'm getting the same sort of sound as the 3500rpm rattling heatshield noise, whenever I let off the accelerator but instead of it being there only a second it lasts until I drop under around 2000RPM, no matter the gear. This sound is louder if I release the throttle at the higher RPM or when I'm using the clutch to decelerate the car. Any ideas?

I'm still getting this sound. I took it to my mechanic, he said it was just the heat shield and nothing to worry about. However, if it were my heat shield I dont understand why it only happens when I off throttle or use clutch to decelerate.
I took it to mania, they said it sounded like my gearbox, and a change with redline lightweight shock resistant shall do it. Excelllent oil, I put it in my gearbox, turret and diff, but the sound hasn't changed at all. They also suggested that a clutch spring could be loose and making that noise.
If anyones experienced this before, some help will be great, I dont want to fix something and only find out that it wasnt the problem in the first place.

I have the same noise, I think it may be the throw out bearing in the clutch.
You'll get a lot of opinions on this, the noise is apparently quite common with as many fixes as you could think of.

Its weird, a lot of them are getting that noise right after a clutch change. Which is exactly what happened when I got mine.
Looks like the ending conclusion was a possible U joint, or a new diff replacement is the trick.
BTW my clutch bearing was replaced with a new one then too.

I had a sound appear after having the clutch changed. It went away after I put a Torsen LSD in. Some research on the big forum told me that the later model diffs/tail shafts have a heavy duty rubber plate at the point where the tail shaft attaches to the diff. This rubber plate absorbs any feed back/flex in the drive train and stops that noise (assuming it is the same noise I and others have had)

LOL!
That would be the sound of the inside wheel/tyre spinning pre-LSD
