pod filter in an nb. performance loss or gain?

I'm making more power with a pod filter.
If you search the forum or garage for "CAI" or "Cold air intake" i'm sure you'll find some great solutions.
My favourite for the NB is the small 90" bend that puts the filter behind drivers side headlight away from the heat of the exhaust headers.

I wish there was space to do that on the NA.
What do you do to filter air for the breather? I don't see a line to the breathers there

When I dyno'ed my car a while back, I made 2 more rear wheel kilowatts with my pod filter setup than a stock version of my car that had about 30,000km less on the dial.
However, I still haven't taken any pictures of my CAI setup yet

Mine was done by SuziTech here in Sydney, so that doesn't help you out
Keep in mind that we're talking about peak power here as well. Although I personally haven't noticed a problem with low down throttle response with my particular setup, you might find setups such as those suggested by MXHEVN and the such will give you less low down response.

Not necessarily. Lots of guys on here have had good results doing it themselves. People have even done the mania style intake (drilling holes in firewalls where the front washer bottle sits) themselves (I think).

Checked the temp under the bonnet and found that there is very little difference wherever it's measured which is what I expected. I also checked the temp in front of the windscreen where a lot of people draw air from and found that it's no cooler under speeds of about 80kph.
If you want cool air I suggest it needs to be drawn from the front somewhere. (This is my NA of course)

Problem with the front grill is 2 fold, heat from the radiator (mostly taking off at the start line/traffic lights after cars been sitting still and radiant heat off the road (esp. here in W.A.).
If you're getting the same heat from your cowl as under the bonnet I suggest the seal at the back of the bonnet isn't working.

I had a look at the "cold side" short intake.
and notice that the plastic guards there.
Might be possible to modify/cut it and channel cold air from there..

didn't I hear that short toilet plumbing bend increases the torque but savagely increases the fuel usage?

i just put a breather filter there.

your probably better off leaving the plastic cover on, i needed to take mine off for the rims, the filter gets alot dirtier then what it was.
