Just wondering, are there any forumers using the Cowl Mania intake, that requires cutting a hole?

I know a lot of NA owners have it, but are there NB8A owners with this style of intake, and if they ran into any problems, when fitting.
I've seen alot of NB8A owners with different setups/ no drill intake, and was curious to why they didn't go for the "coldest" possible setup.

I'm currently running this intake in my nb8a, and I consider it to be brilliant. I've found fuel economy to be better (after installation), and it produces a wicked induction note.

Installation is pretty simple, if you've got the right tools. (I didn't, so i got mania to do it). It involves cutting a hole in the firewall, and building a bracket to support the intake. You'll have to relocate the windscreen wiper water tank though, as it intereferes with the intake.

Would you have pictures of this setup? Particularly where the support bracket and hole is for the intake?
It looks like you are making quite a fair bit of power with just exhaust/headers and intake.

Regie that's a nice intake, good for NB8B's which can't use cowl intakes due to abs lines.

nothing masking tape and a can of touch up paint wouldnt hide

for the nb8a i'd be more interested to get boxed in fillter in the original location and then run ducting up to it from the front mouth from either around the back of the head light down through where fog lights are located or on the cold side having either an air box in the front bumper to keep some intake runner length or have a short intake like mine with some ducting from the front mouth. this way you arnt attacking your fire wall..

its not easy.. the spaces arent all that big.. i do remember one person cutting a hole in the metal behined their headlight and going straight down through there but they also welded in a ring of sheet metal to reinforce it.. or rather get the stregth of that section back to where it was without the hole.. again not a small modification

hmm, so there aren't many ways.

What intake setup are you using irwin38r?

and theres a pipe that comes up where intercooler piping would run that goes around through some plastic undertray parts too the front mouth. all dunny pipe
