DSC on NCs

I hope this hasn't been covered before.

Just interested to hear what NC owners think about DSC on their cars?

I'm finding that when cornering enthusiastically the DSC cuts in when I think that I can still keep powering through a corner and when it cuts in its pretty savage.

I seem to have more predictability with the DSC off.

Is the DSC too sensitive or am I doing something wrong?

It's just doing what it's supposed to do to keep the car on the road. It can be induced to intervene early by rapid or abrupt changes in steering/accelerator input.

Interesting!

Thanks for the info.

Next time I go bush I'll concentrate on varying my steering and accelerator technique through corners and test to see how it influences DSC activation.

It's surprising how quickly you can corner without the DSC activating. A few road surface ripples which tend to make the car skip sideways or lose traction will get the DSC/TC going big time though. I've found that the smoother the cornering technique the less intrusive the DSC/TC.

As it happens we were playing around with the DSC button on my mates chipped Golf GTI yesterday. It was amazing how much faster the car pulls out of corners with the DSC turned off. Even though the wheels may have been spinning a little they still had enough grip to get the car moving pretty quickly. With the DSC activated the computer must cut the engine power/applies the brake at the first sign of wheel spin. I think VW could have tuned it down a bit to allow a bit more wheel spin before it activated.

Sounds just like the Mazda setup Garry. I imagine they are all similar.
