welsh plugs are a pain in the arse to replace at the best of times...........do you need a new clutch??? .............coz I've found over the years doing the one at the back of the engine or head is easiest with the engine removed

you need to replace a welsh plug?
if there is one at the back of the engine, I would assume it is next to impossible to get it off and replacing it whilst the engine is still in the car. It's difficult enough to remove the CAS or coil pack let alone a welsh plug.

If you have a good engine hoist and a few people who are mechanically handy, then engine removal is pretty straightforward, but takes a solid day or two. Detaching/re-attaching the gearbox is the hardest part.

I think he is talking about the rubber cap on the back on the head under the cas perhaps?

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but there is no easy way to do it. I did this a little while ago and it was the singularly most painful job I have ever done on my car. It's not so bad to get it off but getting it back on is a real handful. Try some really really long nose pliers to get in there. Go on a diet so your arms and hands are smaller, and possibly think about removing the cam angle sensor and coil pack to get at it. It is a completely ridiculas place to put it but on the other hand it is cheap to buy a new one . Have fun

As a side note, if it is that small rubber plug that is leaking chances are that it was caused by the CAS O ring leaking and dripping oil onto the rubber. So, while you replacing the plug I would suggest you replace the CAS O ring.
