Hey,
Has anyone installed the Flyin Miata Mazdaspeed Downpipe / Cat Kit or their Mazdaspeed Complete intake kit on their SE?
Is their any difficulty caused by the LHD vs RHD issue between the Mazdaspeed Miata & the MX-5 SE?
How long did the install take?
Thanks,
Alf

When i was looking at the different intakes, i decided not to go with the FM unit because of the positioning of its air pod and piping. RHD SE has the ABS unit where the FM pod and pipping lie, on the LHD MSM, they have brake drum and resivour in that position which is not a problem.
As far as the FM downpipe and CAT, when assisting a fellow SE owner install the FM DP + CAT; the flange + gasket would not sit flush onto the OEM mid pipe. We had to use additional gasket to make it fit, not a difficult fix but the product is marketed as "bolt on" to the OEM mid pipe which is not the case.
The FM DP/CAT has a number of 02 sensor bungs, which is not present on our OEM DP/CAT. If you dont mind filling the bungs with bolts, that will solve that issue.
As far as quality of the pipping it looks like decent workmanship, however if you do a search on the yankee site a few "owners" have complained about the CAT going bad and similar fittment issues.
It took about half a day for us to install it using stands, I suggest if you access to a hoist; it will be alot quicker and safer.

Thanks, Blackster,
Sounds like it's give the intake a miss but maybe on the DP/Cat (it's pretty cheap depending on shipping). Yeah, will have a bit more of a look arount maza-speed.com.
Cheers,
Alf
