lsd questions - before and after

Just wondering if anyone has any data on before and after track times with an lsd. I have just purchased an lsd and was wondering what sort of improvements others have gained from the mod. thanks.

you'll get much more drive out of corners. i found it really tends to straighten you up and you can get the power down a lot better as you are exiting the corner.

depends on the track really.
at wakefield (very short tight track) i hear its about a second?? but thats just a number i heard someone mention in conversation.
however through my own experiences id say it would be atleast a second at wakefield... makes a HUGE difference coming out of the fish hook...

I reckon that'd be where it'd make the most difference there. When I take it at power, I can feel the wheels slipping, so it'd be great to have the power down going round there.

Just a question, im pretty sure my car has a viscous LSD....I've heard you can get extra shims put in them to make them lock harder, to the point where you can get them to act as a completely locked diff....and its only like $300.
Just wondering if anyone has had this done, if its possible and also if they've drĂven a car with a proper LSD, and whats the difference?

Sorry James; no times to post. But I can tell you I didn't realise the inside was slipping until I put the LSD in and it didn't do it anymore.
Massive difference.
Matt: you can't make a viscous diff act like a locked diff. They will never lock as well as other types of LSDs. From what you describe you have a clutch pack diff. If you shim the diff you can get the clutches inside to be very tight against each other and act pretty much like a locked diff.
