Oh NO! Feeling sick - I broke something expensive

Well, I'm swapping over heads on my car right now. A set of oversize valves have been ordered from the US and will be here soon for the ported head so I'm using the other ported head for a few months.
I just put the camshafts into the swap head - and broke the inlet shaft in half!

That will teach me to juggle a call from work with using a torque wrench.
I'm gutted, HKS 264 camshafts are not so easy to come by.
In the remote chance that someone has one, or knows of some magic trick that will allow this one to be put back together, please respond. I think it's humpty dumpty - it'll never be back together again.

Ummm, $5000 or a couple of hundred for a new camshaft? Which is cheaper?

well such an offer doesn't come up often, which is better value?.. take a loan & sell off your current engine/parts if you need to & want to.
i wonder if it's easily drivable in day to day traffic.

Could you take it to a cam shop (eg Tighe) and get them to degree it and make a copy?

I have already emailed Tighe.

They can build up a copy using one of my stockies as a blank. But by the time you include postage etc., even they recommend my getting a replacement from the US for less than $100 more.
I liked their forthright advice and wish I was actually going to use them, but I won't be this time around.
I'm not quite so angry at myself today, but I'm still pissed for such a mistake. The problem was a stuck lifter, it was in, but not totally square to the bore. When I torqued down it just jammed more and the cam lobe placed pressure on the shaft.
Lesson - Always lube the lifters and make sure they are IN squarely so they can compress.

highly doubt it. anything built for high revs will be a b**ch to drive around town
Not neccesarily, it depends on the cam specs. I've seen a very drivable sprinter with 310deg cams but small lift that was still idling smooth and quite drivable. He said lift is what makes it 'really' lumpy.
Bad luck with the cams mate, just sold mine last sat too
