Hi There,
I remembered someone on here said Supercheap was selling Castrol Edge cheap
well I went into SCA today and saw Castrol Edge 5 - 30 for just under 30 save 29 something
Anyway a question to those who are using it is it worth the extra $$ on top of Castrol Magnatec (stuff I'm running atm)? at normal prices that is
I'm running 10w-40 atm is it ok to run 5w - 30 in my nb
Castrol Edge?

T'was me!
A lower viscosity is always better in colder climates, so go for it.
It's really a matter of personal opinion as to which is better lubricant.

Re: Castrol Edge?
Edge is fully synthetic, so better than semi-synthetic Magnatec
Don't know what NB you have, but Castrol actually recommend 5W-30 with both oils for NB8B (also recommend 0W-40 Edge)

Re: Castrol Edge?
I used Edge 5W30 for years, including a lot of track work. It's fine and it's a helluva lot better than the retail version of Magnatec which is a cheap dyno oil wrapped in heavy marketing. There is a full synthetic Magnatec available to Subaru dealerships called Magnatec Professional - it's alright if you can find it.
