After advice from respected boffins, I will be purchasing a set of Maruha cams.
So has anyone bought from them directly?
There's a US dealer called Chikara.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

Andrew

PS: Alfadog, you have Bab's old car with a set of Maruha cams installed (or are they Tomeis?). How are they?

PPS: Hellmun, the cam specs on the Chikara site seem to be for the NB's. Doh.

I have made a few enquiries directly with maruha in Japan without any response. Chikara has always responded to my enquiries, but I never bought from them. Ocean (the guy from Chikara) has reasonably limited ENglish, so be clear in what you want.

I have an NA with HLA Hamish, so no solid lifters necessary.

So did you end up getting a set of cams from anywhere?

If I get crappy response from Maruha, I'll go Integral Cams.

Happy happy joy joy!
Ocean from Chikara replied to my email within an hour! His grasp of english has also improved as he was clear enough to understand.

1) Hydraulic lifter
Duration Lift Base Circle
IN 252° 9.2mm 33.6mm
EX 264° 9.5mm 34.2mm

I thought all the NB's were solids so these should be for your car?

Yup, that's the link Ocean sent to me. I'm gonna go for the set including cam gears @ $850USD, can't beat that!

I have bought from Chikara before, only because they e-mailed me back an hour or so before I got a response from Maruha themselves.

I was a little too hasty in my ordering. That said it only cost me a couple of dollars more so I didn't mind either way.

Got another quick reply from Ocean at Chikara.
I simply asked how much will shipping be. Answer $85USD from Japan.
Hmmm... sounds a little excessive, but I'll wear it cause the price is good.

Okibi, did Chikara give you any tracking number at all when you ordered your stuff? Who was it sent by? (USPS, EMS?)

Hamish, who's Tyrone? Where from?

It was sent via EMS, i'd have to check back in my e-mail to see if there was a tracking number.

When $1AUD buys US0.92c - who cares?

Just watch you don't get the order over $1k ;)

Sab, when it gets down to 90c then I'll buy, but pundits are thinking it will go over $1.00 :D
Especially since they announced there may be a slight recession happening soon.
And dont worry bout the magic $1000 mark. Burnt once, never again.
