As the aircon in my MX5 doesn't work either I'll probably do this myself at some point.

i did mine a while back,
very easy,
radiator doesnt have to come out.
just unbolt it all and away you go.

What have/are you guys doing with your air cons once removed?
Im after the 'u' shaped piping which goes fromm front of the radiator to behind it... any chance someone wants to sell me theirs?
I have a holein mine from where it rubbed against some other plumming (turbo)

well i'm planning to keep mine just in case i decide to refit it later. if i was to sell anything i would only sell it as a complete set. it doesn't make sense to part it out as that would devalue all the left over parts.
surely you can get a peice of pipe made up at an aircon specialist, or buy it from mazda / wreckers?

Hey Fatty,
When you remove the compresor bracket that bolts to the side of the block, it has a bolt going through the front of the engine too. This bolt also hold your oil pump and it will be too long once you remove the aircon bracket.
If you leave the bolt off, your pump will eventually leak all over the place (how do i know this?

) Find yourself the same bolt (12mm head from memory, but I've had 3 beers) about 15mm shorter and you should be sweet!

well it;s been inoperative for a while now ive just learnt to live without it. it was difficult at first but you get used to it. my car is not really a daily driver anymore so it's not too bad. if it was a daily driver i' think twice about removing it , and maybe take the time to get it operational again.
