aluminium flywheel torque settings

anyone with aluminium flywheels, what torque do u set the flywheel bolts at? its for a 1.8 1995 mx5

The new flywheel should should come with the instructions on how much torque to apply??

yeah but i bought it second hand, not new.

Same as a regular one I would suspect. Check miata.net's garage section for torque settings. Make sure you clean the bolts and threads and use threadlocker.

Also can I add check the thickness of the flywheel where the bolts go through and make sure it is the same as the old one. I used an alloy flywheel on an engine and the bolts bottomed out but felt like they had torqued up. Funny noise on the engine dyno and flywheel lets go on the run down, damaged the block as it came off and left a nice graze in the dyno room wall :shock:

This was not on a mazda engine, but can't hurt to check.
