perhaps consider getting the silicone hoses set from mx5parts.co.uk & be done with it for a long time

Silicone hoses are expensive (but probably the same $ as genuine OEM rubber ones), but the value is that they will last indefinitely.

You sure that's not just hype?, Can't Imagine Silicon lasting much longer

The rubber ones will be fine. You will probably find that you will also need to replace the retaining clamps. They never seem to hold/seal as well when re-used. I have just tended to use the worm drive type hose clamp. And you are right about the cost.....expect to pay around $300+ to replace the lot....and thats just for the hoses.

You could buy black garden variety silicon ones (instead of flashy red, blue, yellow).
