I want a radiator cowl like the one here...
http://www.mx5mania.com.au/product753.htm

SS would weigh a ton I prefer mine to be made out of CF (reduced weight).

Anyone know where I can get a CF version?

Dude I really wouldnt be that worried about it, the cowl plates are soo thin they weigh hardly anything anyway.

lol you serious wun?
a CF version would be expensive to manufacture/acquire and the benefit will be marginal at best. Maybe a 1kg saving in sprung weight?
you could've saved heaps by removing those heavy huge speakers you chucked in and replacing them with stock speakers =]

I have one of these in stainless - would be lucky to weigh 250g. Take the passenger seat out and empty the glovebox Wun - you'll save a fortune :D

I thought I saw one made of CF for an NA, but never for an NB :?: (Maybe I was having a nightmare)

I shoud get a GPS instead of using a melway save ~1 kg...

Make it yourself. Its not a complex shape, and its not much more difficult than fibreglass. Alternatively, use fibreglass with a \"carbon look\" top sheet. Use our friend google to look for cf kits.

Or just dont get a cowl plate at all, then you have the best weight saving..

If you're worried about weight - don't even get one. You are ADDING weight to your car !

:) duck tape the whole section.

I wonder if Cowl plate does anything on our MX5, there's only a few holes here and there. MY old 200SX has a hugeeeee gap in between so I can see the benefit of putting this plate.

Actually im not sure it does a lot, cooling performance wise. The idea makes simple logical sence to me? Anyone here vouch for thier effectivness?

I think the car does get hot on 40 deg summer days tho but reluctant to upgrade to larger heavier rad.

Ok ok I get idea LOL will look up CF kit in google etc etc.
