Transmission oil change. Incomplete ... (now complete :P)

I drained a little bit of the tranny oil in hopes that I can top-up with some anti-friction/seal preservation additive. Unforunately, the dang refill bolt is too tight.
I have drained approx 600ml of transmission oil. Is this ok? I know the capacity is only 2L.
How much of the gearbox internals sit permanently in oil?

Lesson to be learned here grasshopper...........always remove the fill bolt before removing the drain bolt

you are wise Obi-Wan.
I'm gonna remove the speedo cable thingy and fill it up from there.

Speedo cable was not where I thought it was, so I managed to top up the gearbox via the reverse light switch.

It almosts sounds funny - I filled up my tranny fluid by topping up the radiator reservoir !

Yeah, so how do you know you didn't overfill it? Or did you only put 600ml of that additive back in again?
