intake question

Postby 16bit » Fri Nov 30, 2007 4:32 pm

I am thinking about making a cold air intake box for my car. The light on the hot side of the car is the best place for air to come from that I can see. My question is can i cut just under the light a bit to get a cold air feed pipe to the front of the car without structualy effecting the car that much or will it cause big troubles?

It does not seem like a good place to cut (structurally-wise).

Plenty of the intakes have a scoop which wrap around the back of the light (those small gaps are pressurised so a lot of air comes thru). I think there is a nice Mania (?) scoop I have seen pictures of?

the scoop you are talking about is the auto-exe one I would think, mania has the firewall one and a pod with heatshield one

just underneath the back of the headlight there is already openings leading outside the car if you take a close look, I would think these would be good enough already and would NOT recommend cutting any holes into anything metal
