New CIA

Installed a CIA on my NB over the weekend.
Fabricated up a box the goes over and behind the left head light which seems to be the only place I could use for cold air.
Purchase a unit of this forum including a filter and casing.
Moved the power steering reservior to get it to fit.
Overall, very happy. Finally a sound comes from my NB.
Lost power in the lower end but mid/upper has been freed up.
Un fortunately I suffered panel damage in the process of getting materials for the black housing.

Nice install.
I fitted a Mania CAI last week as well - I'm loving the sound of it, but I think it might result in a few speeding fines if I'm not careful.

Hi Ben, Looks good
Did you drill a hole behind the headlight?
Also is it hard to move the PS resevoir...some of the tubing is quite solid.

Hi,
Moving the steering reservoir was not to difficult. You will need about 40cm of hosing and somewhere to drain off the hydraulic oil. I was able to bend the rear hose and utilise one of the exiting bolt holes from the air filter to reattach unit.
There is no need to cut a hole in anywhere. After much search for a suitable hole for the CAI I noticed that there is a hole underneath the head lights. I built a box out of alum and gaffa tape to make sure I had a good seal around the head light taking full advantage of the cold area coming from the front guard. I should be getting very little air from the engine bay.
As stated above the low end is gone but mid to top is great. Already recieved a speeding fine before mod. 70k's in 50 zone while going through a round about. Hopefully I can stay out of trouble, but she does go nicely.
I got to say, the only thing to fault with my NB as a sports car was no sound, that has been fixed 50%. now for the cat back system in the next few months.

Fish looks like chiclids but you wouldn't have any plants left with my fish in there.

Nice install on the NB.
I, had Loch stewart cold air intake, loch stewart extractors, loch stewart cat back system.
It doesn't sound like an NB anymore, sounds like a racecar and the power increase is very noticeable.
Lightened flywheel makes the NB accelerate so much better.

Change over the spark plugs to irridiums and new leads.
Cleaned the TB and checked all the electrical connections including grounding leads.
The loss in the bottom end is now quite small but the torque increase mid and high end is incredible for such a easy and cheap mod- that be it a lot of my own time fabricating up the induction box to such that cold air in.
When the clutch needs replacing, the fly wheel will be lightened.
Next is to have the injectors flow tested and cleaned.
I love this mod, it has made the car more responsive and with better torque.
