depends on how you drive, what mods you have done and your tyre pressure mostly. I drive like a maniac most of the time, with supercharger kit (137kw atw), and 36psi in the tyres. I got 425km to 41 litres of fuel (7 litres left i think). A bit of it was on the highway but even then i am a bit of a clown. also i use and my car is tuned to 98 ron fuel. So based on that i have no clue how you are doing in the fuel stakes - more details.

Define a 'tank'. Different model MX5's have different sized tanks, 45, 48L etc, so you're better of asking how many litres per 100km people get, in what driving conditions.

And then I can answer you. My 2001 NB8B (with 170000km on the clock) gets ~10.5 to 11.5 L/100km driving round the city, and between 6.5 and 7.5 L/100km on the freeway, top up, aircon on.

I run a bit of injector cleaner through the fuel system every couple of months, and change my air filter every year or so.

I have an exhaust and CAI setup and get 400 out of a tank in my NA6 but I do drive it fairly hard.

My NB8A pulls between 8 and 9 litres per hundred k's. I've filled my tank up to 46 litres before, but I wouldn't push it to that amount regularly. I usually expect the 500km to come around when my needle is sitting square over the mark indicating empty (not the 'E' itself). However, there can be inconsistencies with the position of the fuel gauge. My old NB8A ran empty a lot further down the gauge than my current NB8A.

A good thing to check is your tyre pressure. I've been doing some trial and error experimenting with pressures, and so far 28PSI is not a good option. I'm running 29PSI now and it's already increased my efficiency by about a litre per hundred. Normally I run 30PSI, but since I'm experimenting, I'm gonna run it at 29 for a bit longer, then just go up to about 34 and see what happens.

My car is a daily drive, so it's fairly stop start, but I do get some relatively efficient runs in some days when I stay late or start early at work.

I've put a CAI in, and haven't noticed any dramatic change in consumption figures. However, I don't usually get past 4k revs because of all the traffic when I'm driving. I do put the gas on a bit more frequently now though with the CAI, but again, it still doesn't usually get much past 4k.

NA8, I get a little over 400l for a 35-38l fill. Most of my driving is around town too.

NA6, 8.3 l/100 mostly country driving.
Doesn't seem to vary much city/highway.

That's 8.37 l/100, same as me.

On a track day, I get as little as 75 km to a tank of gas, and i'm glad I carry a spare fuel can with me when I go racing.

Around town, I usually get around 250-300km per tank, as it's normally in peak hour traffic crossing the harbour bridge, but on a nice freeway run I can get around 400 k's.

My car hits the redline every time I take it out, and I certainly don't drive it for economy!

I am about the same except I guess i get 350-400km in city driving... but then im not sitting in traffic.

I drove from canberra to Brisbane filling up 2 and a bit times... 1250km/3 = ~400km... some of the streches of road i filled up early because it was 100km to the next city...

Just to compare with new technology, I hired a Peugot 207 diesel for a 3 weeks while in Euorope and even while cruising along a 150km/h + on the Autobahns, I was able to get at least 800km (200-250km range still showing on the dash!) and that was with 40-45L
