Transmission oil change for NC

Can someone be kind enough to confirm that the location of the drain & fill plugs are the same in the NC compared to the NB8B?
I just noticed the gearbox whine at take off or accelerating from very low speed. Maybe a change of oil will help.

It's a pretty standard system as I recall from a look under there when it was up on a hoist. Drain plug at the bottom and fill plug on the side.

Have you changed your transmission oil yet? Have you noticed if yours has gear oil when taking off?
I thought the layout for this box should be similar to the NB 6 speed. No harm asking!

No franjae, haven't changed the tranny oil - no noises coming from there either.......maybe I've got the Bose up too loud
Bloo Max is going in for his 10,000km/six month service today. It's four days short of six months and he has run up 9,500 totally enjoyable km now.

Franjae,
As JBT said the drain plug is on the bottom however there are two plugs on the side and you need to pick the right one, and from memory I can't remember which one. I think it's the one at the rear Driver's side.
I changed my oil out early to synthetic for both gearbox and diff. I found with the synthetic oil the syncros were slower, so if that is going to be a problem for you go with the standard oil.
As for the whine, I have it too, nothing to worry about, it's normal. If the noise bothers you then add some sound proofing to the transmission tunnel.

I think the fill plug is on the left (pax) side
......... hmmmm.

Thats where it is on the NB 6 speed. Undoing the nut on the right side will result in a gearbox rebuild apparently

Thanks guys, yes my previous NB 6 speed, the plugs were on the passenger side so I guess it should be the same with the NC.
Funny, I found the clutch and the gears so much lighter than the NB, yet my wife hates it when she drove it today. Hmmm, looks like this is definitely MY car
