Well, I finally finished up my engine swap from broken keyway'd NA6 to Spikey's old NA6 engine.
Christ, what a relief it is to have a smooth running car again, with power below 4 grand. Love it - it was a bit tappety for the first 10 minutes, but it's spinning sweetly now. Haven't floored it yet or revved it out, but I don't think that's going to last long.
Anyway, the point of my story.
Reverse gear is now a bit stiff and difficult to engage. I thought it might have been because my gearbox sat empty for a month or so, but after a spin around the block, it's still stiff. I'm thinking that maybe I installed the reverse gear switch without a washer or something, so it's blocking the mechanism?
Does this sound reasonable? I seem to remember there being a washer left over when I reassembled everything. The reverse lights work correctly though.
Spikey's engine, finally in
