I have been speaking to Simone about this (thanks) and would like a few more opinions.
I need a new clutch as mine is slipping. I have about 137wkw at the moment and will be increasing boost from 6 to 10psi and getting 805c's at some point too. I am not sure but would think about 170wkw would be possible with this setup and am not too sure on which clutch to get.
I will go with excedy but not sure which one - organic hd, button hd or sprung button hd. Has anyone here got or had the button clutches? If so what are they like to live with. I don't use the car as a daily driver but do live in the city and a fair bit of my driving is done there. any adive would be much appreciated.

Hi Mate,
I'm running the FFS kit as you know. Presently at 135-8rwkw but too rich in the mid range so more to come. I'm guessing it will be just under 150 when sorted - pre bigger pulleys at least which like you I plan to fit at a later stage.
I had the exedy HD non button fitted with my install. It was a bit shuddery at first but over time is getting smoother and smoother (at about 1300 k's on it now). I'm told the shudder will go away completely after a few more k's. The big advantage is that its only just perceptibly heavier than stock. Its certainly coping with present power / torque outputs without issue. Since I'm non intercooled I am unlikely to be going to far past 160 odd rwkw mark though. I guess it just depends on how hard you are planning on punishing it and how long you want it to last.
If your'e doing mainly city driving I dunno about a button, I think there's a degree of incompatibility with that sort of use. That said David from Mania suggested that they had recently fitted an SP with a Exedy / Daikin HDB. He mentioned that this cars clutch was a bit shuddery as well however with a few more revs before takeoff it was easy enough to get around it. He did say that the HDB's shudder was unlikely to go away though (though perhaps the owner might chime in with a comment on this

)
Note that its Mania's practice to install a machined flywheel as part of all clutch replacements so this is not a contributing factor to the above experiences.
Hope this helps
Steve

I have an ceramic button exedy in the clubman, and as lowmiata said, its a PITA in traffic, but once moving its great. It didnt take much getting used to, and now im used to it, its great. The car shuddered for the first 2000kms or so, but has settled down now
