Ok people I have just got a set of NB8B brakes to put on my NA6. While I was at it I thought I would upgrade at the same time so I also ordered dba 4000 series slotted rotors and was going to order Bendix Ultimate pads. Lo and behold they are not available for the NB8B

So what I am after is a good replacement pad for this setup. I need it daily so it can't make too much noise and it needs to work well cold. The less dust the better as I have white wheels and am already tired of cleaning them. I am looking at spirited on road driving with the occasional track day thrown in so if I can get some suggestions that would be great. Thanks

Hey Ben, new brake place on Mcintyre rd in sunshine on a cnr, CANT MISS IT. I got my rears from there & they work well, the guy tells me that his pads are the same as the ones howard (race brakes) labels as his own & sells for a much higher price.... they only sell (they dont fit them) but seem to know what they are talking about ;)

Ferodo DS2500 - the best dual duty pad I've used.

Just dont go Hawks HP+ Ben, or you will be forever cleaning your wheels..

Looks like the Ferodo's are in front. Does anyone have experience with EBC Greenstuff?

i thought that was more of a track pad? i just got bendix's on mine. so far so good.

I got an email from Mania tonight, they can't get DS2500
anymore.

I went thru this a couple of months back - couldn't get Ultimates - Bendix don't make them for NB8B, couldn't get anything but bendix advance for the front and lucas pads for the rear. They are ok on the road, but not what I was after at all, but there was nothing out there but OEM or these, and I tried several outlets. Not sure where to go from here...

Uhhhh, OEM? From what you described, that's what you want...

I have been using these vendors for years. Barrie Smith bought in the first set of DS2500 for the NB8B from Italy for me back in 2002. The second set which are one the car now, also came from him. Alternatively, take the plunge and start a relationship with Flyin Miata. They are a little dearer than some of the other online guys, but I generally order on Monday and pickup at the post office here in Sydney on Friday if they have them in stock. Always excellent customer service.

Has anybody found an after market source for the anti rattle clips on the NB8B. I would like to get some better pads for my car but my anti rattle clips are shagged and need to be replaced so that is pushing me towards getting OEM pads. Blardy Mazda and their evil scheming, profiteering ways.

Peter at Brakesmart in Wollongong also said he should be able to get in a set of DS2500's when I had him do my brake lines. I was thinking of trying the Hawk HP Plus for my next set though. Daniel said he thought my pads were a bit dull cold, I'm curious to contrast the DS2500 to the Hawks. If it's more friction when hot..then I'm happy to have more rotor wear/noise/dust. An excuse to upgrade to DBA rotors

Be wary - the HP+ are quite an aggressive pad. I chewed through two sets of DBA rotors within 5 000 kms before I decided to throw them away. This was a weekend car, so the brakes were normally up to temperature. I ended up going with a set of carbon/ceramic Endless pads.

The 5 000 kms consisted of two track outing, two one-day rallys, and weekend street driving. The Endless pads have been in there for 15 000 kms of the same driving and there is about 50% pad wear and no noticeable rotor wear. So I consider them to be value for money
