hey guys, i was just thinking for a minute and i plan to get myself a mania cai down the track (or a diy cai) but when i get off my P's the mx is going turbo, so i will be left with a hole in the firewall
will this effect anytihng?
also i was curious if it was possible to atatch the turbo fan to the hole via a hose or something, if this was done do you think that it would help spool the turbo quicker?

Yes you can fit the turbo inlet up to the hole in the firewall.
If you are looking for bits consider this guy near Wollongong.
http://www.jntperformance.com.auI built my DIY CAI from parts supplied by him. Very good service and top quality product. I will be going back when I need some more bits.

if your still looking at changing I noticed this thread before
http://www.aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=26215Also talk to Fuzzlet about the maina cold air intake and having a turbo because I'm sure he uses both at the same time, then again I think boags had one before he went turbo and has just left the hole in the firewall
edit:
confirmed that fuzzlet did use the mania cold air intake with his turbo
Fuzzlet wrote:Plus the advantage of using an SP manifold and dump pipe meant the turbo could be mounted low enough to still use the mania CAI.

yes you can use the hole, it just means there might be a bit more work / stuffing around with your pipework. and yeah from memory fuzzlet did it that way. here is another example -
