what is a stage 2 set up?

anyhoo, maybe grab the AVO setup and DIY? I remember AVO has a DIY guide on their website, if not give them a call.

What is your budget and what do you wish to get out of your car?

DIY would be my prefered option but I have done it a few times now!

Paying some one is alays easier but you don't get the same finish
If you get the avo stg 2 kit
mostly all of it is bolt on

or you can drop a few parts like i did and look after those parts elseware
(makes overall cost cheaper and you get better spec'd items)

look after fuel managment elsware as well and you will make a bit of a saving there as well

don't skimp on the important parts as a general rule and you'll be right

here are some I have prepared earlier!

Image
S14 200sx Front mount intercooler piping & fitting of exhaust manifold

Image

Same again but without the manifold just FMIC and pipework

Image

180sx again FMIC and pipe work

Image
Toyota surf with TMIC and pipework

Image
uncle arthurs pfft red car!
FMIC piping fitting ebay manifold and exhaust

here is my original write up on sabretooths website
http://forums.sabretooth.id.au/viewtopic.php?t=46

this is a newer ic of mine

Image

there is also Geoffs turbo piping
Countless more SR ones in other cars
pulsars etc
If you know what you are doing they are quite easyto do!

megamoose_69 wrote:the stage 2 kit is just you basic kit with an aftermarket ECU and someother goodies.

well in saying i should do it my self what tools would i need, and how difficult is it?

If you have a decent spanner set, screw drivers soccets etc you will be half way there!

tools that you would need that you probably wouldn't have?

there would probably be one or two but none come to mind.

you could pic them up as needed to.

difficulty?
depends on what you buy and how you do it
but by far the hardest part would be like the pictures above, mounting and plumbing the intercooler this requires special tools etc for fabrication.

I would steer away from the ebay manifolds as my experience is they are not "bolt on"!

SMB or AVO make good manifolds

I bought my turbo, manifold and lubrication line from avo and did the rest myself

to break it down
AVO cost was about 2600
intercooler and piping 700
Microtech 1800 fitted and tuned etc
and there would be another 1500 or so i think in other bits and pieces

i did have a break down of costs some where on the forum but it will probably be hard to find

you are quite welcome to look at mine and see whats needed before attempting it if needed

Ryan.

http://www.avoturboworld.com/news/miata_a4_small.pdf

pretty sure stage 1 is about 5500 and stage 2 is just shy of7000

The N power stuff

It would get you turbo charged but with limited ability for progression later on
and with a TDo5 turbo
look at AVO and you are starting with a T25 (bigger) and much more user friendly when upgrade time comes as they are used in the SR area and are common as well just common

the exhaust manifold shown in the picture is the same as uncle arthurs, his did defiantly NOT fit and unless you have the right tools you would be stuck!

and that kit is not intercooled.

My advice?

Start looking at ebay for

Intercooler
injectors
bov
maybe a turbo

AVO manifold can be had for about 700 + dump pipe which was roughly 250
turbo's can be 'clocked to suit aplication so most T25/28's can be used

fuel managment is personal choice but could be done for approx 1500 look at wolf 3D etc

something like this is a start
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-Rebuilt-GARR ... dZViewItem

intercooler
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SKRacing-FMIC-TU ... dZViewItem

avo website is
http://www.avoturboworld.com/

give them a ring and see how much the parts will set you back to get started

Ryno
