How long do the stock fuel injectors last?

I'm at 110,000km now and drive it everyday. With so many cycles and 6 years from production, I presume they have some sort of life span.

Can anyone shed some light?

Sorry to post in this section, I need an answer fairly quickly.

Cheers,
Bevan :)

Got a 1987 JE MPEFI Camira with the original injectors and 450,000 odd kilometers on it... I've had them cleaned once due to some rough'ness but that turned out to be an O2 sensor.... so they can last quite long.

My NA had just under 160,000km and 12 years on it and was running the originals - never overhauled to my knowledge.

My line of thinking was that injectors would need to be cleaned/rebuilt after about 150,000km.

I might be able to get a set cheap ($50) so was thinking of buying them as a precaution. If they generally last more than 150,000, then I don't think I would bother.

why fix something that doesn't break Bevan??? :?

i was talking to a cabbie the other day.....he's an owner driver............luxo barge V8 Fairlane........1,500,000 Kilometres on the odo.........he was whinging, she dropped an injector on him, first time the engine has been touched since he bought it....i'd say your spare set of injectors will have clogged up with dust by the time you'll need 'em mate

I would be a bit surprised if the injectors had done even 15% of that many kms. Every cab I have ever come across ran on LPG. No injectors.

They do last a very long time, I would not bother buying a spare set.

for the record, THIS cab wasn't running LPG, first thing i asked :)

I had been thinking about this issue myself. The family hack is a 13yo Nissan Bluebird (145Ks) that I have owned from new. It is the only car I have ever owned for this length of time and I have kept it because it is such a good car. Before driving it to Cairns & back last week I put a bottle of Injector Cleaner through it as you would think that the injectors MUST get a bit clogged up just driving around town for a lot of Ks. I always wonder if these cleaners actually do anything or if they are a bit of a rip-off. What do others think?

Cost me $20 each to have them professionally cleaned, nozzle spray tuned and new o-rings. Then just popped them back in myself. That was mates rates but I don't think it was a massive discount. Made the car a little smoother but no large differences. Wasn't a good dollar per horse power investment by any means.

Golly, they must have really old taxis in Brisbane. <6yr rule down here for cabs. Even then they can't rack up 1,000,000 km in 6 yrs.

well, i saw the odometer, & that's what it read..........a bit over that actually..........i'm not sure WHAT year it was, haven't kept up with the luxo models, but it was immaculate & i assume it passes it yearly inspection, & i can see how a cab in brizzy could clock up those sort of k's....as i said, this guy was an owner driver & obviously takes care of his gear :D

anyone else care to question the validity of my post???

Yes, I think that two roll eyes for this is incorrect, three should be a minimum.
