Just noticed yesterday driving back home, my engine pings under load with little throttle and on full throttle.... on rolling start and while shifting between gears, as soon as I get off the throttle and apply about 1/4 throttle I can hear the engine ping... it doenst ping when its out of gear and reving on its own

ARRRGH Its driving me insane!!!

I dont know if it is cause by a dodgy batch of fuel or my new intake or something else

Might try resetting the ecu or even drain the tank of fuel out tonight

Please help.....

When did you last change your fuel filter?

What are your plugs like?

Have you got any mods? I have a CAI and ful exhaust. I put in 95 ince and it pinged under load. Put in 98 octace (BP Ultimate only) and it hasn't pinged since.

I'd say you've just got a bad batch of fuel.

I had a bad batch of fuel once in one of my previous cars. A really really bad batch. Every time I even thought about touching the accelerator it pinged it's head off. I have no idea what I filled my tank with but it wasn't petrol. Needless to say I have never been back to that servo.

Try another tank of fuel from a different brand of servo, preferably from a different suburb Eggy before you stress about it to much.

Option1. Get rid of the fuel.

Option 2. Add one bottle of Octane booster - $10
