How do you go about resetting the ECU on an NA6? What are the advantages/disadvantages of performing an ECU reset?
Cheers guys.

only reason to re-set ecu as far as i know, is to clear any fault codes. simplest way that i know of is to disconnect the battery and step on the brake pedal for about 10 seconds.

Nothing...
You use GND + TEN to set your timing and base idle speed.
You can permanently reset it by dropping it in water though

I haven't heard of the brake pedal thing before, as there's no power going to anything, so it could flick any switch or anything. But yes, disconnecting the battery is the only way to reset it. Just disconnect it for a few minutes.

Sorry to go off topic.
Do you connect these 2 terminals together and then turn the screw in the throttle body to set the idle?
I've been scewing this thing in and out without anything happening.

Maybe, but as you don't have a Start button in your car, you won't get it going and if you do, you won't be able to stop it.
Anyway, where would you put the USB plug?
