possibly. it really depends on the health of your current radiator i guess. you might be fine, you might not. i guess you won't know until you try!

afaik, the only difference between the stage 1 and 2 kits is the fuel management they use. either way, they use some form of aftermarket fuel management to take care of things. the stage 2 may have bigger turbo as well, but i'm not sure about that.
so you should not need to upgrade your ecu, the avo kit should take care of that for you. if you do try to chase more power tho, you might need to upgrade the injectors or fuel pump (or is this already done as part of the stage 2 install?)
oh and the other thing you might need to look at is a bigger exhaust system if you want to gain more power from the kit.

you can install the avo kit yourself and save a bunch of money.
hard to find a manifold "the same or better" than the avo one tho. maybe begi or fm, but i don't know if they are cheaper. but yeah the rest of the parts are pretty standard i guess. the avo stuf is just too easy tho coz it bolts straight on without too much drama, whereas a full diy build throws up a lot of headaches and problems to solve along the way. it is defaintely do-able but it depends on how much time and energy, and skill, you have.

Have you spoken to AVO about prices of the kits? If you want it installed by them then you are a little low on budget for the Stage 1 kit (I believe) and from what you say you want the Stage 2 Kit. I'm not sure how much it costs if you install it yourself though.

I'd say you'll certainly need a higher capacity radiator for 140rwKW.

Good luck! 8)

A stock radiator can handle a turbo. Mine was running 160rwkw on the stock radiator for the first few weeks. That was also during January. Since mine is built for the track the bigger radiator was needed.

You should have a look at buying the AVO kit without electrics, then add ur own injectors and ecu. I considered this, but wasnt impressed by the 'quality' of the intercooler and piping

If your radiator is in clean and in good condition, it should be fine for street use, but I'd still keep a wary eye on the temp gauge when you're pushing it hard.

If you want to take it onto the track, that's a different story, and you would be well advised to go for a larger radiator, and even a small oil cooler.

I was considering this option, but IIRC AVO used a different turbo to what I wanted, plus I wanted the bling factor of metal piping, rather than silicone. Plus the advantage of using an SP manifold and dump pipe meant the turbo could be mounted low enough to still use the mania CAI. The AVO no electrics kit is about 5k, so add your injectors ($500), ecu + tune ($1500), you'll have an absolute firecracker under your bonnet. Now this is a bit higher than what you might of budgeted, but in a case of turboing the car, you really don't want to skip on things

you can still use a cai with the avo stuff too, as i have. my cai is different to yours tho, i've got the mx5 factory one which has flexible pipe at the firewall as apposed to the hard pipe that mania use

Mania are advertising AVO kits for $4000, familia injecotrs, tested + cleaned will set you back $150-$200. ECU can be anywhere from $500 up.

The bare bones, absolute basic, no-frills 1.6 AVO kit is around $4000. For the NA8 Stage 1 kit you'll be looking closer to your budget figure - and that's just for the kit. If you're planning on doing the installation yourself then you're probably in the ball park for an AVO kit.

Been snatched.....I was hoping for the gearbox, but mine hasnt kicked the bucket.....yet....haha.

Yeah I wasnt too sure on the price of the AVO kit.

Fatty: See I already had the mania CAI, so I wanted to keep it with the turbo, rather than have a gaping hole in the firewall
