Hi Guys,
Is the bolt pattern and port positioning on the block for an exhaust manifold the same for an NA8 and an NB8B?

I've done alot of searching on miata.net and miataturbo and it seems it is a straight fit.

The only thing that has a question mark on it is does the EGR return pipe need to be fitted on a turbo application?

Legally, probablly to pass emissions unless you have a good tuner, but illegally, no. The EGR return pipe breaks off most SP's so a few guys have ditched it. The car still runs fine without it.

Just for the record, I still have my EGR pipe attached. Though I've had 4 replaced due to breakages.

LOL, you guys are funny. Just the mention of turbo and half the people on here cream themselves. Love It!

I'm in 2 minds about whether to start picking up parts for a turbo install (actually, 1 and 3/4 mind to do it and 1/4 not too) so just getting a guage on what is needed for the manifold at the moment as it's the hardest thing to get. I'm in no hurry and would prob take 12-18 months to get all the bits and peices. I wouldn't be able to spend $3000 in one hit, but getting bits here and won't hurt the bank balance at all.

The Dark side is strong in this one.

PS. I realise an SP is the best option but it's too expensive. They're still at the $30k mark, and my car is prob only worth $20-21k so 10grand is far too big a difference to contemplate that, especially when DIY is about 80% cheaper.

My car is an NA8 and uses the manifold and dump pipe off an SP. The turbo on the SP is mounted low, which then makes it possible to use the mania CAI like I have done...only problem was the cost, about $1600 all up. A lot pricier than other brands, but quality is better aswel

The other option I looked at was a HKS manifold. I think Greenline sell it. $420ish also.

Both mount the turbo on the top side.

Mine was geniune mazda....Just checked pricing it was $1300 for manifold and dump pipe. Mazda wanted $2500(ish) for the manifold, dump pipe and turbo
