Moving number plate
Question:
I have a slim line front number plate mounted on a bracket that has the plate upwards on nose cone. Can you mount plate in \"gap\" on front without upsetting the cooling?? I have seen some photos of this done, but wonder about air flow to radiator.
Cheers
Robbiew.

Re:
SM wrote:you could also try the "jap" mounting method where a braket is placed on the passenger side front toe/shipping loop, so number plate is mounted off-centre and not in the way of the front grill in any way
Is there a write-up on such mounting methods?

Try this http://www.onthenet.com.au/~malibu91/julesplate.htm
I'm happy with the result. It's legal and the car won't overheat.

I made two small brackets for mine which bolt onto the very underneath of the nose cone where you would bolt on a front lip spoiler. There are two bolts there almost the right distance apart. I tried mounting it offset to one side but didn't like the look so I put t there, is out of the way of most of the air flow and looks a little like the shark mouth is eating it
Sry I dont have any pics I dont have the car right now, its at the shop getting the sills done.

Take it off...
Take it all off...
Go to the local RTA office and tell them someone stole it, and ak for it to be remade. (cost is approx $30).
They will give you a receipt stating the plate is being remade. Keep the receipt in the glove box - bit conveniently spill a little sun block over the date so it fades or runs into obscurity.
HEY PRESTO you have a get out of gaol free card
$30 and some sunblock is cheap compared to actually doing some physical work and buying materials

When results speak for themselves - don't interrupt.
