is this a warning light responding to some sensor in the car??? It comes on more when the car is in neutral or changing in between gears.

brake fluid is topped. going to doa fluid change tonight and bleed the lines... been over a year..

front brakes still have over 2/3s of pad left.. didn't get a chance to check the rears.. and rotors are still very new.

and no the hand brake isn't on.

any ideas???

Could be a loose or damaged wire/faulty switch, either at the handbrake or brake master cylinder.

hey,
Check all your brake/tail light bulbs. I dont know about mx5s as mine has never blown one since i owned it. But new hondas when a brake light goes the handbrake light comes on and stays on.
