Postby micksta » Sun Nov 19, 2006 8:50 pm

HI ALL IF SOMEONE COULD HELP WITH THE DIRECTION TO UNSCREW THE
DRAIN PLUG ON THE 90 NA GEARBOX , ITS ON SO TIGHT THAT WHEN I TRY TO UNSCREW WITH FORCE I'D LIKE TO BE GOING IN RIGHT DIRECTION.

ALSO THE FILLER BOLT SEEMS TO UNSCREW CLOCK WISE IS THIS RIGHT?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Lefty loosy, righty tighty.
Use a ratchet on it set it so its solid when going in the anti clock wise direction and that'll undo probably all the bolts on an MX5 (have yet to find one thats reverse thread).

Thats for both the bolts on the gearbox too.
Just make sure you put some upward pressure on the head of the ratchet when undoing a tight bolt to make sure it doesnt slip and damage the bolt head.

Make sure you loosen the filler bolt first. Won't be good if you can't but you've already drained the box...

as Sheck said but also add a hollow but solid bar that will fit around the end of the handle as an extension to get more leverage... (hope that made sense for you, it does in my head :P )
