oh well......I'm sure thats fixable. just need to redo your timing belt. & get that sprocket replaced. repacle the bolt with a new one on this short nose crank. Still a real bummer.

Yea cheers boys, belt is only 3-600km old (yes very new) water pump is prolly more like 20,000km and the bolt, timing gear, key, seal are about 5-10,000km.

As for the pulley/harmonic balancer mazda want $270.40!!! ouch
I'll be getting a second hand one off a mate if i'm lucky (hopeing he has the same year engine).

Thanks for the quote kitkat i forgot how much i payed last time for that stuff. I'll have to order it in tomorow.

Still cant belive it happened!! hahah
Only just got out of the garage too, got all the stuff off i needed to, so new stuff is ready to go in.

Dave

PS if you niticed that electrical tape around that hose goin from the thremostat to mani then yes i will be replacing it  just havent got around to it yet. Plan was to do it this arve along with my oil change.

Pulling the bolts out of the cog will be easy enough once you've removed the cog from the crank. What part of the pulley is damaged though?

Actually, I have to get myself a woodruff key and that sorta stuff too. And a few bolts for holding all of the various bits and pieces on - fun fun.

The hole are slightly enlarged and the little cut out bit (that goes on the timing mark) is bent, also the part where the spacer head of the bolt go onto are pretty worn. I'd just feel safer if i replaced it.

The cog was loctite'ed on so that came off damaged, need a new one :?
