1.8 Firing order - smart?

Postby Insurgence » Mon Oct 23, 2006 4:11 pm

Hey,

has anyone noticed that if you put the ignition wires in the wrong way (e.g. i reversed the 1 and 4 ignition wires) that the car still works properly?

Smart ECU?

It's called waste spark - the plugs fire on the power and exhaust strokes instead of just the power stroke

Cylinders 1 and 4 fire simultaneously, as do cylinders 2 and 3.
