okay after long debate weather to put the BP motor in my Na6, Ive finaly bitten the bullet and am going to rebuild the the B6 motor and sell the BP motor.

Heres my shopping list and I just wanted some advice to see what im doing will be okay.

ACL Bottom end bearings
Clean up the old crank shaft (short nose)
ARP Main and Head Stud kits
A metal head gasket Commetic 1.0mm ??? Help here needed
Familia GTX B6T Rods
ACL Rod bearings
Forged Pistons- Wiseco, Ariais?? CP??? help here needed
Mazda speed oil pump 30% more capacity pump really needed? good option?
Mazda Gasket Kit
Welsh Plugs
Valve stem seals
use existing valves if condidion is okay.
clean up the head, port n polish
all engine dipped and cleaned

so there anything i left off?

Just wondering what brand and size head gasket to get?? hmm
And what brand of piston to go for? and what there compression ratio will be?

Thanks guys and yeah i looked at sabertooths threads and searched around. I just wanna make sure that i have a good bottom end that wont need pulling apart in 6months

Thanks

Rich

Probably worth getting a long nose crank while it is apart. I would use your BP flywheel and clutch too if it is still on the other block.

Can't help with anything else though.

I dont think so, because the spacing between cylinders is diffrent i belive to the b6 so therefore not the same.

And I dont want to pull appart my BP...i want to sell it...*heads up anyone BP engine from Jap import forsale*

How much is a BP motor worth anyway?

Fair bit more than a B6, fortunately.

I'm using the standard oil pump (when I get around to buying one). I have some Wiseco forgies - I'll let you know how those go when I've got it all together. :) The headgasket I'm using is the standard item also - they're triple layer steel from the factory.

I don't think you should have much difficulty selling the BP engine, either.

How's the condition of the spark plugs, plug leads and cam cover gasket? How about the CAS O-ring (or are they in the gasket set).

Ohh yeah good point, Id assume the factory mazda pump would do the job, just saw it on corksport and put it on my list as maybes?

Ahh so B6 will have a metel head gasket? I thought I just readsome where that they didnt... think it was flying miata??? :?
just the BP engines have a metal gasket 3 layer job.

ohh yeah spark plugs...need to put that on the list, Im going to take out the existing coil packs at the back, and run some aftermarket bocsh coil packs instead and put them in a better location as the current location is such a bitch. :x

Not sure if CAS o-ring is in the kit? and yeah prb do with a new cam cover gasket too... lol Hmm find out when i get my engine builder strips it down and then orders it.

I dont think im gunna get much change out of 2500biccys... :(

*thinks about the power instead* :D

Sabre has an NA8, that'll be why he has the metal gasket. I'm not sure if there is a metal one for the NA6.

Whoops. Yeah, the B6 has some kind of composite gasket. I guess it was some kind of design choice, as my Familia block is from about 1990 (short nose crank BP...) yet has the triple layer metal gasket.

I'd go for ARP Rodbolts too - The stock rods are quite strong, and the B6t even stronger, but it's the bolts that tend to let go before the rods...

If you're looking for a head gasket, I have a brand new Cometic still in the packaging that I'd let go for well under retail 8)
