I've got an AVO kit on my 1.6 with microfueller but that is getting the flick in favour of a motec m4 and 460cc rx7 injectors, my question is do you have to get a larger fuel pump, I was about to buy a walbro 190hp.

Ive put a larger size walbro pump on mine although I cant remember the size.. I can check it out later if you like, i think i have it written down somewhere.

Before it was tuned though i saw another NA6 get tuned and it maxed out at 95KWs atw and then they upgraded the pump and got 115.. so I upgraded.. i dont know how much bigger the NA8 compared to the NA6 pump is??
I heard from another guy that had a NA8 pump running a 1.8l at 150rwkws ..anyone else vouch for stock pumps??

I'm running a stock pump on my NA6 with 130rwkw. Thought I would have to upgrade but it was okay, however I am dubious as to how much more power it could handle.

My advice, get it in the dyno with the stock pump, and if it runs out of fuel change it then...

same here. 126rwkw on stock pump
in saying that though when i up the boost and go to the tuners a new pump will be going in before hand.

I'm running the stock pump in my NA6 making 160 ish rwkw, 330 cc injectors and 12lb of boost. I haven't come across any fuel issues yet and although the injectors had more capacity I suspect the pump might not have much more.It should get you well on the way though.

wow is that with stock internals!

I've read of forum members running more than that. Engine wear might increase but a good tune is the key IMO to keeping it a happy camper. The 1.6 is a great little engine isn't it!

yes they are great motors, but was that on stock internals, no compression plate!
which ecu you running!
thanks :)

Thanks guys, I think I might go with the walbro 190 high pressure pump just to be safe. BTW I would be rapt if i got 160rwkw on 12 psi :D

Depending on the age of the condition and age of teh pump I've seen a few stock ones push 160kw worth of fuel...

Mine gave up at 140kw, replaced with a walbro GSS342

Yeah, stock engine with over 170,000kms before the install and now with 10,000 more. There are no signs of oil use or blow-by and touch wood(slams desk) should do plenty more.Computer is SP Motorsports latest piggyback which although had some install and setup issues the Dynotuning was quick and easy from what I could see. Don't forget the 1.6 runs a little less compression than the 1.8s which helps a little. I would use turbo pistons rather than a compression plate to reduce compression but 1 turbo install doesn't make me an expert on that. Cheers Alan.

your on the right track about the pistons as this is what some one that does know told me to use.

thanks for your replys :)

*may the turbo be with you*
