How good is Mobil 1!

Changed the oil last night for the third time since ive owned the car and finally i am getting the contortionist technique just right so i only spill 3L of oil on the undercovers instead of the usual 16L when removing the oil filter (Exaggeration).

Anyhoo, i tried Mobil 1 5W-50 after using Castrol Edge 5W-30 and noticed a serious improvement in the smoothness of the engine, especially at high RPM and in down shifting. At first i thought it might just be because of the new oil, but ive changed the oil every 5000km, so theres not that much variation between new and old generally (at least there wasnt with the Castrol)

But WOW!!! Mobil 1 rocks!!!

And the best part is that its slightly cheaper than the Castrol as well...

I've used both and been quite happy with both.

I used to use Mobil 1 in my Swift, and I've used both Mobil1 and Castrol Formula R in my 5. I reckon without testing them after 6000km, it's impossible to tell whether one is better than the other - too many variables...

They're both quality oils, so we can all sleep safely at night.

I used to use motul in mine (turbo) and i used the 10-40W i thought it was alright. Now i'm using Nulon 15-50 and i think it a little better seems to last longer than the motul, not that i change it at any less intervals - just seems to be holding together better.
Never tried a thin oil even when i was NA, now that i'm turbo it's not a good idea until i get my oil cooler set up.

There is a good chance that the change in visocity made the greatest difference, the motor just seems to rev a lot nicer/smoother than i remember....

I used to use motul, now mobil 1. Cant notice any difference...The motul 'supposedly' gets rid of the (non-existant after 5 sec from start up) hydraulic lifter sound
