Rocker cover gasket replacement - bother with silicone?

Not if you get a genuine gasket, but apparently the aftermarket gaskets are not quite as good at sealing - so I would use it if I got an aftermarket one..

Better to use it anyway imo

told my dad that it didn't really need it.. he insisted anyway.

i'd say have it done anyway. on a clean surface & give it a full 24 hours to cure just to be sure.

Even using an OEM cam cover gasket you must use sealant at the corners of the cam seals and around the CAS bit (technical term). If you don't - it will leak. :)

Just like CT said and no leaks from My rocker cover gasket :D
But the bloody CAS seal is leaking :cry:
