I started a topic on the miata turbo forums to get help from there but there aren't too many users and it takes awhile to get decent feedback..

here is a picture of the harness with the wires out the back of it. How to i get those bloody pins out???

They're clipped in there and aren't wasy to come out. how how how???

Got this info from a different site, but it might apply to you too.

You can remove the wires without having to cut or damage a thing. That way, if you ever want to go back to stock, it's simply a matter of putting the original wires back in the original connector. Easy!

Okay, so you've probably looked no, and it's not that easy. Here's a cross section of what's going on. The clip is outlined in red, the connector block is gray, and the wire and spade connector are the gold and blue-striped thing.


You need to get something thin and sharp, and use that to pull the clip up so you can remove the wire. I use a sharpened bicycle spoke, but any thin pokey thing should work. Here's the above diagram, with the wire being removed. Cool, huh?

most good mothers, wives & the like will have one of, or all of these in the \"handy bits\" draw.........they are good for a variety of things automotive i've found over the years..............

I figured thats how it worked.. but the ones in this harness aren't eh wedge ones.. its just the thin bit of plastic that points down to stop it from going out again.

i think my best bet would be to destroy the stopper in there somehow ....

the areas where i'm ripping them out from I won't be using again ... so yeh .. maybe.. i'll keep at it... *sigh*

Maybe look down the pins and see if you can see tabs sticking out. If you can, squeeze them with pliers and pull the pins backwards.

Best bet Astro is to get a cheap set of jewellers screwdrivers from Bunnings.

That's what I use. It's REALLY easy to do.

I went to the local $2 store and bought a set for $2.50! What a rip!

I thought everything was suppose to be $2!!!!

oh wells...

after a little bit of fiddling around with the harness at work i managed to get them out pretty easily by going with the wire from the back of the harness...

in goes the screw driver.. light tug and out comes the wire.

I've rewired the whole thing now and should have the emanage in the car this weekend for tuning.... ooooooooooh
