NB Guage/Speedo Cluster into an NA?

Postby Roderic » Tue May 30, 2006 10:18 pm

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has done it or know if its possible.
I've already done the NB interior conversion and the only thing left is the speedo/guage cluster. I'm running a Wolf V4 PnP ECU and putting a 6-Speed box.....so it should be possible right? ? ?

Thanks again
Rod.

Except that the speedo is electronic in the NBs and cable dríven in the NAs. That might take some trickery to solve. 8)

Where does the speedo signal come from?
As in where does the cable link to??

The tacho works differently as well.

There is a pulse generator attached to the gearbox where the speedo cable would be attached to the NA gearbox. You'd just need to run a wire from that to the new speedo. I'm not sure what you'd do about the ECU speed signal which came off the NA speedo pulse generator though.

I think you'll find that the speedo is dríven from the ECU in the NBs as is the tach signal.

If you could be bothered, just refit the NA speedo and tach to the NB instrument cluster. That's a fair bit of work in itself to get it to work.
