so what do you guys use to hold down the heat wrap on exhaust manifolds and piping?

I've seen some people use stainless steel hose camps? Anything else I can use that is Cheap?

stainless steel hoseclamps are rather cheap & effective though. don't think you can do any better for less..

it's a very tedious job that heatwrap stuff.

put it on before they get fitted i say

yeh already did it once on my original extractors when they were on the car.. hurt my knees from over extending them to reach the manifold.

got your shocks installed yet?

and has anyone made that pipe that goes from the cone air pop filter to the cowl?

nup, waiting pending my job contract getting renewed or not. just found out my front right side shocker is different from the other 3. some blue US made shocker, probably had a leak at a dealership sometime in the past. might explain why my right turns feel a bit different from the lefts.

you got that yellow mushroom filter don't you? wouldn't be a hard diy project. some pvc rain piping & maybe like a plastic bowl in the right size & shape.

heheh yeh im sure

you can bid on this C one here http://cgi.ebay.com.au/JUSTJAP-DOME-TYP ... dZViewItem

im not bidding on that one... he has many and puts them back online every week. I've been watching them for months now.

I'm thinking that its not really CF and just plastic painted to look like CF.

btw

that heat wrap stuff is really itchy.

just use 'tie wire' to hold the wrap on. worked fine on my old drag car.

Wouldn't the chrome one reflect some of the heat away from the intake too? Whereas I'd imagine the darkness of the carbon fibre look ones would only increase heatsoak wouldn't it?
