Cruise Control Problems

When I got my 2000NB, the previous owner threw in a cruise control that he had bought but not installed. I had it put on but it seems it is the wrong CC for my model. There is a large plate at the end of the unit that opens the throttle. It is not revolving enough to open the throttle far enough. It will not set any higher than 100 KPH. Can this be replaced or modified in any way as I dont want to pay for a new unit.
Any suggestions?

Are you sure the throttle plate is causing you the problem? It doesn't take much throttle opening to cruise at 100kmh on level ground. Some cruise controls are speed limited. ie one of my cars would not let you set the cruise control to speeds under 40kmh and over 130kmh. Though I'm not sure how an aftermarket cruise control would know how the speed pulses related to actual road speed. Are you using the Mazda speed sensor or one that came with the CC?

Being extremely mechanically challenged
, all I know is that it is a Mazda CC and the other stuff was told to me by Dick Ritchie of the MX5 Factory who installed it. If speed limited, is there any way to by pass that?

If it is a Mazda CC then the throttle plate should be the correct size for the MX5. Sorry, I dont have any other suggestions.
