Ok i am asking this as I have found a 94 NA within my budget (read pov) but it has in excess of 350000 Kms travelled.

This does not worry me too much as I have been pulling engines apart before being legally allowed to drive them.

I was just wondering (as the car still has 7 months reg) how good these engines can be.

I have had experience in quite a few other makes (including a 74 galant with 420K km) and had mixed success (2L escort dropped piston @ 10000 km)

I realise the rest of the drivetrain will be tired as well, but this will just add to the fun in its restoration

Just how cheap is it? Are you specifically after a NA 1.8 as that Monty 99MX5 mentioned for 12K sounds good. What's your budget?

if the rest of the car is in great nick & the price is low, factor in an engine rebuild

I think that's a little out of his budget

$1500 for an import donk is your ballpark...cheaper than a rebuild.

spose that could be a good idea, anyone know a supplier who has the limited BP 2.0L MPS engines
