How many Kms are these engines good for?

Postby ampz » Tue Apr 04, 2006 9:05 pm

Ok i am asking this as I have found a 94 NA within my budget (read pov) but it has in excess of 350000 Kms travelled. :|

This does not worry me too much as I have been pulling engines apart before being legally allowed to drive them. 8)

I was just wondering (as the car still has 7 months reg) how good these engines can be.

I have had experience in quite a few other makes (including a 74 galant with 420K km) and had mixed success (2L escort dropped piston @ 10000 km)

I realise the rest of the drivetrain will be tired as well, but this will just add to the fun in its restoration :D
Huh?

Just how cheap is it? Are you specifically after a NA 1.8 as that Monty 99MX5 mentioned for 12K sounds good. What's your budget? :)

if the rest of the car is in great nick & the price is low, factor in an engine rebuild :)
