Hissing/sucking sound coming from CAI

Postby Li7hium » Sun Mar 05, 2006 7:42 am

Hey guys,

Now I know that sucking air in is what the CAI is supposed to do.

However, it is now audible in the cabin, hardtop/ soft top on or off. In the engine bay it is heard at the firewall (where the CAI pokes through) and at the intake manifold.

The noise continues for a second or two after I turn the engine off.

I can not recall hearing this prior to the battery going dead the other week.

Am I being paranoid to worry about this sound?

Yep mine does the same. It sounds like water flowing through a pipe at idle, with a faint hissing noise. Nothing to worry about in my opinion.

Mine does the exact same thing and has so from the first turn over from installing an induction system. I love that noise, sort of like the car saying good night. :)
